At eighteen Federico Gatti was playing for Pavarolo, in Piedmont's amateur leagues, and working during the day. Four years later he made his Italy debut and signed for Juventus.
From Rivoli
Gatti was born in Rivoli, near Turin, on 24 June 1998. As a child he played for Chieri, then from 2005 to 2012 in Torino's youth teams and afterwards in Alessandria's.
Work by day, football at night
From 2014 to 2018 he played for Pavarolo, in Promozione and Eccellenza (Italy's regional amateur leagues). In those years he worked at markets, as a bricklayer, a carpenter and fixing roofs. He trained in the evening, after work.
From 2018 to 2020 he was at Verbania, between Serie D and Eccellenza.
One step at a time
In 2020-21 he moved to Pro Patria, in Serie C. In 2021-22 he joined Frosinone, in Serie B.
On 11 June 2022 he made his Italy debut against England (0-0). In summer 2022 he joined Juventus and on 31 August made his Serie A debut against Spezia. With Juventus he won the 2023-24 Coppa Italia.
